A lot of people believe that Epson Expression with their EcoTank technology is costly, but that’s not the case with Epson Expression ET-2650. The performance is quite good although you shouldn’t expect too much from the printer. It won’t blow your mind although it does deliver good performance and quality. The printing quality is quite good and clear, and you can definitely expect an inexpensive operational cost.
Features and Design
If you take a look at the design, it looks similar to ET-2550. It has the same big in the container but with a shorter appearance. As a result, the tank seems like an extra attachment to the printer. But with this one, you can clearly see the ink levels. The printer is 11 pounds heavy with 11.9 x 17.5 x 20.8 inches, the printer looks compact and light. You won’t have to prepare a generous space for the placement. Paper handling goes from the back to the front. Too bad it lacks auto document feeder so you won’t have the ability to send several documents straight to the scanner. Technology
The Epson Expression ET-2650 uses advanced connectivity with USB and WiFi. There is also a WiFi Direct that can help you manage the faster connections and easier print. The machine supports Epson Connect, Epson iPrint, Google Cloud Print, and AirPrint so you won’t have to use any cables or whatsoever to connect the printer to other devices.
The control panel will make making copies or printing (from the clouds) easy. The color LCD with its 1.4-inch size will help you navigate your way around the printer. And let’s not forget that it is nice to have one device that can function in a different way. You only need to buy one printer so you can print as well as scan and copy documents altogether.
Setup
If you have to refill the ink, you can do it by yourself. You need to squeeze the bottles so the ink can pour to the tank. This is handy to prevent any spill or mess. Installing the printer is pretty direct and it isn’t complicated. Just follow the directions and you should be good to go.
The Quality
The overall quality is pretty good although be prepared with some smaller fonts issues. The black and white prints are good – closer to being awesome. And for the colored printing, the results are quite impressive. If you are okay with the general setting, the results are quite pleasing to the eyes, but this printer can do so much more. One thing to like about this printer is the usage of refillable bottles. Epson is not using the ink cartridges anymore for this line – they have replaced the cartridges with the refill bottles. Not only it can save you money, but it can also make the printer run for a longer time. The tank is made bigger so it is enough for more ink. You won’t have to spend tons of money to buy the bottles and replace the ink. Plus, you can also make the printer run longer. This is one friendly financial trait that you can enjoy.
Pros and Cons
Although you may have to pay more when you first buy the printer, you will naturally save more in the longer run. In terms of quality and performance, this printer is better when compared to the previous products. Not to mention that you will love the inexpensive operational cost. But you should be ready with some of the downsides, including the absence of auto document feeder, an automatic duplex ability, and others.
But in the end, if you are looking for an inexpensive device to help you with everyday printing tasks, and you don’t want to spend a fortune, this printer will be the perfect device. Despite the downsides, you can seriously take some advantages from this Epson Expression ET-2650.
